Virgin Australia Boeing 737 to Melbourne

Heading to Tullamarine on the Baby Boeing

Back in July 2018 my family and I headed off on a whirlwind trip to the UK and Europe, our first leg was Hobart to Melbourne on Virgin Australia’s Boeing 737-800, VH-YFG. I’d like to apologise in advance for the poor photo quality, the camera I was using wasn’t fantastic.

Boarding was on time, and we began to taxi out bright and early at 6:45, taking off towards the north. Just as we arrived at cruising altitude, the sun began to rise out the starboard windows, making for some nice photos.

The crew then came down the aisle with the standard Virgin Australia Economy service of a snack and a drink, perfectly satisfactory for a 60 minute flight.

Not long after crossing the Tasmanian coast, we began our decent into Tullamarine. We touched down on runway 27 under overcast skies and taxied across RWY 16/34.

My brother has been kind enough to let me use his video of the landing, filmed on his camera at the time, a Nikon Coolpix S21.

We had a fairly long taxi over towards the terminal, allowing me to take a few photos of some of the interesting aircraft on the ground at the time, including the aircraft we would be heading to Singapore on, 9V-SWW, a Boeing 777-300ER.

Overall, another great flight with Virgin Australia, but don’t forget to look out for the next leg of this trip, economy class onboard Singapore Airlines’ Boeing 777-300ER!

One reply on “Virgin Australia Boeing 737 to Melbourne”

The airline is Capital Airlines (special livery). In the comments it might be a good idea to make it possible to attach photos so among other things when there are unidentified airlines people can attach pictures they have on the aircraft.
